.com TLD and now we commonly see
.dev among other popular choices in the mainstream web.
Suppose that you have a great company name/game name, but
greatname.com is taken. Should an indie developer or upcoming company choose an alternate domain ending such as
.io or other suitable TLD?

game or some other clever ending to the domain itself and keep
